• Pray for our keeping of Lent, for a deepening of our worship and our own spiritual lives, and for a sharing of our faith with the world around.
  
  
• Pray for the Staff Team as they prepare Lenten Worship and Study; for the PCC as we prepare for the Annual Meeting next month; for people to stand in the elections for PCC and Wardens; and for our ministry as Parish.
  
  
• Pray for our Lay Pastors, Care-Ring Coordinators, Parish Visitors and the Members of the Bereavement Support Group, as they support the pastoral work of the Parish.
  
  
• Pray for all those affected by natural disasters, by warfare and civil strife in recent weeks, and for all those struggling for freedom and justice for their people.
  
  
• Pray for the Family and Informal Services in our Churches, and for all the efforts to grow our worship in depth and numbers.
  
  
• Pray for all those suffering financially at this time, and those worried about jobs and homes.

 

Prayers for the start of Lent:

O Lord,
The house of my soul is narrow;
enlarge it that you may enter in.
It is ruinous, O repair it!
It displeases your sight.
I confess it, I know.
But who shall cleanse it,
to whom shall I cry but to you?
Cleanse me from my secret faults, O Lord, and spare Your servant from strange sins.

Father in Heaven, the light of your truth bestows sight to the darkness of sinful eyes.
May this season of repentance
bring us the blessing of your forgiveness
and the gift of your light.
Grant this through Christ our Lord.
