On Sunday, June 5th, we enjoyed a return visit from Freemantle Church Choir - our choir joined theirs on Remembrance Sunday last year.
Around 20 singers arrived full of energy for a rehearsal at 5.15, followed by a quick cup of tea, and then a splendid Evensong for the Sunday after the Ascension.
Gary directed the Choirs, and Craig Lawton, organist of Freemantle, played the organ.
The music included an Introit - Tye - O Holy Spirit, Lord of Love, an anthem by Ernest Bullock - Give Laud unto the Lord, and the hymns, Rejoice, the Lord is King, Christ, whose glory fills the skies, Jesus shall reign and Christ Triumphant, ever reigning.
It was a very enjoyable evening, and we were glad to welcome members of the nave congregation at Freemantle, as well as the choir.
We hope it won’t be our last visit either way.
