At the beginning of December I was asked whether a group of year 2 (6-7 year old) children with their teachers could come from Mansbridge School to St Mary's to think about weddings - I said, 'Yes', of course.
And so, one afternoon, their arrived.
We spent some time thinking about the Church, what it was for, why people might come and how we might pray there.
And then we thought about what a wedding is, why people might want to get married, and what one would need for a wedding.
This was followed by a wedding ceremony, with the bride and groom, their parents, the bridesmaids and best man, and the family and friends - and the staff had brought appropriate props along.
It was a lovely afternoon, and we hope they learnt something as well. Gary |
