• Pray for an increase in vocations to ordained and other ministries, especially around Vocations Sunday on May 3rd.
  
  
• Give thanks for the ministry of Women Readers, especially on the 40th Anniversary of Women Readers on May 10th.
  
  
• Pray for all Christian Aid Collectors during Christian aid Week, May 10th-17th.
  
  
• Pray for those being confirmed at St Mary’s on May 17th.
  
  
• Pray for the farming community, especially around Rogation (Sowing) Sunday on May 17th, and for all of those who work to sow seeds of hope around the world.

Prayers from the Confirmation Service (for May 17th)
Heavenly Father, by the power of your Holy Spirit you give to your faithful people new life in the water of baptism. Guide and strengthen us by the same Spirit, that we who are born again may serve you in faith and love, and grow into the full stature of your Son, Jesus Christ, who is alive and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit now and for ever.  Amen.

God of mercy, by whose grace alone we are accepted and equipped for your service: stir up in us the gifts of your Holy Spirit and make us worthy of our calling; that we may bring forth the fruit of the Spirit in love and joy and peace; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
