• Pray for the renewal of the gift of the Holy Spirit on the whole Church at Pentecost.
  
  
• Pray that as Christians we may work together with all of God’s people - both within the worldwide Anglican Church, and locally with other Christians in this area.
  
  
• Remember also the Covenant of Churches AGM on May 18th.
  
  
• Pray for all of the HOPE08 events during the 1st half of May, and for all those organising them.
  
  
• Pray for all the ways in which we reach out to the local community, to share God’s love with them and his concern for them.
  
  
• Pray for our Churchwardens, and for the Visitation on May 21st, when they will be sworn in to office.
  
  
• Pray for anyone you know who is ill, lonely, sad, or in any other kind of need at this time.
  
  
• Pray and for the healing ministry of the Church, and for our new Services of Prayer for Healing.

A Prayer to the Holy Spirit

O God the Holy Ghost
Who art light unto thine elect
Evermore enlighten us.
Thou who art fire of love
Evermore enkindle us.
Thou who art Lord and Giver of Life,
Evermore live in us.
Thou who bestowest sevenfold grace,
Evermore replenish us.
As the wind is thy symbol,
So forward our goings.
As the dove, so launch us heavenwards.
As water, so purify our spirits.
As a cloud, so abate our temptations.
As dew, so revive our languor.
As fire, so purge our dross.
