• Pray for the continuation of the HOPE08 outreach to our communities, and that as Christians we can always be outward looking.
  
  
• Pray for the people of Burma and China, after the cyclone and earthquake in those places, and for all of those who are working to bring relief.
  
  
• Give thanks for Christian Aid Week last month, and for all those who gave generously of time and money.
  
  
• Pray for the St Alban’s 75th Anniversary Celebrations, and that people will be able to renew their commitment to Christ through them.
  
  
• Pray for all of those at school and university who have exams at this time.
  
  
• Pray for those being married at St Mary’s this month.
  
  
• Pray for those in our congregations who are sick at this time, giving thanks for all of those who care for them

Prayer of the Month

At his trial, St Alban declared, "I worship and adore the true and living God who created all things." These words are still used in this prayer from St Alban’s Abbey.

The Alban Prayer
 
Almighty God,
We thank you for this place built to your glory
and in memory of Alban, our first martyr:
Following his example in the fellowship of the saints,
may we worship and adore the true and living God,
and be faithful witnesses to the Christ,
who is alive and reigns, now and for ever.
  AMEN.
