  • Pray for the St Alban’s Project as the main building work comes to an end, and as we plan for the cleaning of the rest of the render, and the development of the grounds.  Pray for all those who will be getting the Church ready for the first service.
  • Give thanks for all the efforts of the last few years preparing for the St Alban’s Project, for the generosity of so many which has made it possible, and for the new opportunities which the Community Room gives us.
  • Pray for Gary on Study leave, and for Kate Sax, at theological college, and preparing to come to the Parish in July.
  • Pray for those who are looking after parish while Gary is away - Wardens, Clergy and Readers, PCC members, administrators.
  • Pray for all those who are ill at this time.

PRAYERS OF THE MONTH

An Uncomfortable Prayer as Lent approaches

Come Lord, do not smile and say you are already with us.
Millions do not know you, and to us who do, what is the difference? What is the point of your presence if our lives do not alter?
Change our lives, shatter our complacency.
Make your word our life's purpose.
Take away the quietness of a clear conscience.
Press us uncomfortably.
For only thus that other peace is made, your peace.

By: Dom Helder Camara, Brazil, from 'Bread of Tomorrow', by Janet Morley.  This book is a collection of prayers sub-titled, 'Praying with the World's Poor,' which is jointly published by SPCK and Christian Aid.
