- Pray for our keeping of Advent and Christmas,
that in all the rush we may find time to pause and pray and wonder.
- Pray for all the children, in their excitement,
and remember any who are being ill-treated or neglected at this
time.
- Pray for our schools,coping
with some very difficult children, as well as with some wonderfully
stimulating ones.
- Pray for all those who will be lonely or
sad this Christmas.
- Pray for the soldiers and others who will
be in Iraq during the Christmas season, and for their families
who will miss them.
- Pray for the Christmas Day lunch at Bassett
Green Court, for all those who will help and all those who will
either come or receive meals in the homes.
- Pray that the Christ-Child will enter our
hearts afresh, and bring peace to all.
PRAYERS OF THE MONTH
A Christmas Prayer by Robert Louis Stevenson
Loving Father, Help us remember the birth of Jesus, that we
may share in the song of the angels, the gladness of the shepherds,
and worship of the wise men.
Close the door of hate and open the door of love all over the
world. Let kindness come with every gift and good desires with
every greeting.
Deliver us from evil by the blessing which Christ brings, and teach us to be
merry with clear hearts.
May the Christmas morning make us happy to be thy children, and Christmas evening
bring us to our beds with grateful thoughts, forgiving and forgiven, for Jesus'
sake. AMEN.
