Kate Sax Welcome Service | Christian Aid Week | Mission Coffee Mornings | Transfer Your Slides to Computer or CD |

Kate Sax Welcome Service

After some delay, the Welcome Service for Kate in her new post has finally been arranged. It will take place at St James’s Church, Devizes, on Sunday, July 19th, at 6.30p.m.

Anyone who would like to go is welcome. We will either go in cars, or perhaps a minibus, depending on numbers. It might be quite nice to go in the early afternoon, have some time in Devizes, attend the Service, and return in the evening.

Please sign the lists in Church if you would like to come.

Christian Aid Week

Well done, everyone, for another fantastic week of collecting. An astonishing figure of over £1,700 was collected by members of our congregations, to which was, of course, was added the amounts collected by all the other Covenant Churches.

This represents a great deal of effort, especially in these difficult times, and the money raised will be extremely well used by Christian Aid to support those in some of the neediest places in the world.

Thank you also those who have the enormous task of counting and banking all the loose change.

Nigel and Kate Harley, and Jenny and David Hales.

Mission Coffee Mornings

Thank you, all those who supported the Coffee Morning and Nearly New at St Alban’s at the beginning of June. It was a really good morning, with lots of people and a good atmosphere. Over £220 was raised for Naomi House and other charities. Thank also for the support for the Coffee Morning on the 17th.

The Mission Coffee Morning this month is on Wednesday, July 15th (St Swithun’s Day, as it happens), and is in aid of the Historic Churches Preservation Trust. This group supported the St Alban’s Project, and we are committed to a fundraising event for them each year.

Also, there is the Cream Teas at the Vicarage event on Sunday, July 26th, 3.00-5.00p.m. This has become a very enjoyable annual feature in our calendar. Do come along and support if you are able.

Transfer Your Slides to Computer or CD

Have you got slides at home which you would like to see on your computer screen, or be able to print off?

If so, Gary has the solution. For a small donation (divided between costs and the Church), you can use his slide converter quickly and easily to scan your slides into a computer.

Either come to the Vicarage and do it under supervision, or you can install the software on your own computer and convert at your own pace at home.
Have a word with him if you are interested.
