St Alban's Grounds

If all goes to plan, on December 4th the work should begin to transform the grounds around St Alban’s.  We have been very lucky to receive a grant of £25,000 from the Hanson Environmental Trust towards the first phase of the work.  And at the time of writing, we are waiting to hear the outcome of another large application which, if successful, will allow the rest of the work to be completed.

For now, Lisa Potter of Room-with-a-View and Tim Bembridge of TAB Landscaping will be starting in the area around the main entrance to the Church, and working their way round the North side as far as the Honeysuckle Road entrance.

The hedge and a large lime tree will be removed, other trees including the cherry outside the Community Room (which has a Tree Preservation Order on it) will be pruned, paths will be laid, and the planting scheme will be followed.

This is the final part (!!!) of the works at St Alban’s.

Our hope is that the landscaping will transform not only the grounds, but also the whole feel of the corner of Tulip and Honeysuckle Roads, creating a positive impact for all those living in the area, and for those passing by.

Many thanks to all those who have contributed in so many different ways to this part of the Project - I wondered at one point whether we would ever get this far, and people’s support and encouragement has been enormously helpful.

Keep praying that all will go well over the next month or two.
