In recent months the PCC has been reviewing our Priorities for 2008 and setting those for 2009 - this is what we have come up with.

January - March
Lent - Have as quiet and reflective a Lent as possible.
Bishop’s Lent Series, ‘Prayer Matters’ course, as few meetings as possible in Lent Pastoral Care - Implement Care-Rings and commission the new Lay Pastors
April - June
Easter - Have as celebratory an Easter as possible.
Worship - What makes our worship joyful, prayerful, stimulating, engaging?
What is dull, boring, unhelpful?
How can we improve our worship?
W & PC to lead reflections on this
Lay Training - Identify needs for development of lay ministries.
See if there is need for confirmation preparation
June - September
Preparation for Outreach - Preparation for Back to Church Sunday - let’s make it a real focus this year, and put as much effort into it as we can.
Preparation for Enquirers’ Group Other special services, and ways of making contact with people.
Noticeboards, publicity, newspapers, etc. - let’s put ourselves on the map!
August Quiet month, some background preparation for September activities
Worship together on Sunday mornings - focus on outreach in preaching
September - December
Outreach - Back to Church Sunday/Enquirers’ Group
Follow up Advent/Christmas - give as much of a push for our Christmas Services as we can.
All Year:
Ministry Review the arrangements for ministry in the Parish which began last January, and which must now changed as a result of Kate’s departure.
Mission Audit
Continue to work on the results of the questionnaires, and do another NCD survey in September
Our Buildings St Mary’s Project - Really get a move on with this - the groundwork is almost all complete- we should be able to move forward.
Set up Friends of St Mary’s (and St Alban’s?)
Set up Buildings Committee
